Deeply rooted in Brevard NC, Joe grew up on his family’s local farm.  From a young age, Joe learned the value of a strong work ethic.  He recalls weed-eating fence lines with his grandfather on the family farm as a small 6-year-old boy, waking before school to pick corn to sell to neighbors and driving tractors to haul feed to the cattle as a middle schooler, and building trails and treehouses in the woods behind the farm as some of his first memories.  “I probably resented all that farm work at the time,” he says, “but now I see the lessons I was learning.”  

He says he’s always known he wanted to stay in Brevard as an adult and after a career as the local outdoor shop, staff-member turned shop-owner Joe found his niche as a real estate broker and investor.  He and his wife began buying fixer-upper homes to sell and/or hold as rentals in their early days together and Joe “cut his teeth” as a carpenter, designer, and contractor on his own projects.  Having a history of wood and metalworking to repair farm equipment added to his creativity and ingenuity.   

Joe has now been a licensed general contractor for over 15 years and brings his expertise and calm demeanor, as well as that hard-earned work ethic and ingenuity to every relationship and job site.  He focuses his business primarily on custom new construction homes in Transylvania and the surrounding counties.  “Each project is an adventure, an opportunity to continue learning and a chance to make new friends and positively contribute to the growth of our area,” says Joe.

When not on the job site, Joe can be found at one of the local rock climbing crags, traveling to rock climb or … you guessed it, on his family’s farm.  Joe and his wife Marisa and their 2 young boys recently moved to the farm where Joe grew up and are in the process of revitalizing and re-building. 

Elliot Aiken

Project Manager

Elliot’s family is native to Transylvania County. He was raised in the Charlotte area but made his way back to Brevard after getting married in 2002. He and his wife Amber reside in Brevard with their 3 children and their favorite beagle. Elliot has 19 years of experience in custom home construction and renovation, 13 of those years owning his own construction business. In his free time, he enjoys fishing and hunting with his boys.
